Aloha ka kou and Mele
Kalikimaka !
Welcome to the Rotary Club of Waikiki !
The deep history of Rotary and the many wonderful accomplishments of Rotarians
is indeed a humbling feeling as I take over the post of President of this esteemed club. I will be guided by the honorable performance of the
Presidents before me and hope to make them proud as we forge new directions into
the future. Specifically, I am most humbled to recognize the leadership of
Immediate Past President, Gene Gelfo, whose leadership and steadfast direction
allows our club to move heartily into the future. Mahalo Gene!
We
have been selected as one of 200 clubs worldwide to participate in the 2011-2014
Rotary International Pilot Program – Innovation and Flexibility. We will
have the opportunity to try new and innovative ideas to invigorate club
activities, meetings, membership and other areas where a good idea might be
constrained by rule, regulation or policy. In short, we are going to
develop new ideas and have the pilot programs backing to implement them. Who knows? Maybe one of our innovations will be adopted as a world-wide program!
My vision for the club as a whole is simply, innovation, flexibility and
efficiency, but not at the expense of what makes our “Friendly Club” so unique.
My vision: Respect the service of our seasoned members and use their
expertise to guide and mentor and embracing our new sisters and brothers into
Rotary service as soon as possible with exciting and relevant training and
participation.
We will forge ahead and never forget the past. We will hold the past in
our hearts and open our minds to what can be. I am committed to your
service, please remain committed to Rotary.
Mahalo nui loa,
Mo Radke, President 2011-2012
